Anya Belyat Giunta was born in 1975 in St. Petersburg, Russia. She lives and works in Lyon, France. The turbulences of ending soviet era obliged her family to exile. It would be first Austria, then Italy and finally United States where she would pass her teenagehood. The drawing, has always been in her essence and has accompanied Anya in her journeys. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Russia and United States. In 2018 and 2019 she was part of two major exhibitions curated by Lorand Hegyi at the Parkview Museum Singapour.

The drawings of Anya Belyat-Giunta resemble to ambiguous constructions fusing body and soul, strange architectures, and collective memory landscapes. They seem to be following a mysterious system of codes while adopting a dream-like logic. In this process without any premeditation the artist constantly jungles between extremely detailed descriptions and open diluted areas of pure color in empty space. Her strange and ambiguous universe questions the enigma of existence, between catastrophe and renaissance, order and chaos, body and landscape, dark matter and pink flesh. For Amelie Adamo it is not anodyne that Anya always navigates at the frontier, borderline between desire and fear, past and present, matter and invisible, infestation and void, word and figure. She traces a mirror line where the unknown reflects its multiple moving faces.

In 2015 Anya was shortlisted for Partners Drawing Prize, Saint Etienne Modern Art Museum, France. Her work is part of Answers Museum of Fine Art Collection and Thomas Koerfer Collection, Switzerland.
